A Haven of Hope

Wimberley Ray of Hope (WRoH) is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation whose sole purpose is to provide a safe, perpetual, smoke-free meeting place for alcoholics dedicated to recovery from alcoholism. The foundation is located at 16933 Ranch Road 12 (just south of Jacob’s Well Road).

In 2005, a caring group of family and friends of alcoholics in recovery came together to find a solution to the shortage of suitable & affordable meeting space for the Wimberley recovery community. Fundraising efforts began in 2005 and by 2007, WRoH had purchased the land on RR 12.

Ozona Bank provided a loan and the building construction got underway. The beautiful 2,000 square foot facility with covered front porch hosted it’s first recovery meeting on Oct. 31, 2008. Currently there are 28 meetings a week serving over 200 people. The beautiful meeting space is now a reality, creating a haven of hope to many who once thought hope was lost.

WRoH has been generously supported by countless volunteers, individual donors, the Cogburn Family Foundation and the Wimberley Lions Club. We are happy to report that in only 7 years the mortgage has been paid in full. WRoH is now able to reduce the rent, allowing the recovery group to utilize more funds for outreach programs.

The WRoH still needs and appreciates your on going support for building and grounds maintenance. Please click the link to our Captial Campaign Program and see how you might help us with our current projects.
